Figuratively speaking, to gamble means to take risky actions in the hope of a desired result. Now, when we think about it, we gamble everyday. There are risks that are taken every single day in pretty much every single aspect of our lives: from school to work, from small bargains to multi-million dollar corporate deals. It is human nature, a part of us. There is nothing wrong with that, except when gambling involves gaming. This is where the stakes become way too high, and loses –which cover a large range of social and economic indicators– are devastating. This is a fact that is known to many people out there, but they simply neglect the issue due to a lack of knowledge about it or have come to accept it [1]. There are three entities that are affected by a gambler’s actions. The first entity is the gambler himself/herself. The second entity is a group of people composed of his/her closest relatives and friends. The third entity is society. This project does not intend to stop society from continue gambling, but to attention and awareness about the effects this kind of addiction has on all three entities mentioned earlier. The table in this game has rotating text warnings to remind the player as he is playing similar to a smoker viewing the warnings on a cigarette package before smoking.
Note: This project has a few bugs and was never completely finished.
